how to install spotlight search

When I pull down on my home screen, I do not see a place to type my query. I'll see my schedule for the day, the weather, etc., but not the spotlight search. Can someone help? Thanks

If you are seeing the Today/Notification Screen, then you are starting your "swipe down" too far up on the screen.

Swipe down from the MIDDLE of the screen instead of the top in order to see the Spotlight Search.
