I have an iPhone 5 that took a swim and I want to sell it for parts or whatever. It won't turn on but when I plug it in it lights up with the Apple symbol and proceeds to flash on and off. Since it won't turn on enough for iTunes to read it I can't restore it to factory settings. I'm mostly wondering if it's unlikely anyone else would be able to get it on or if there is still a way to access the data I had on it. I'd feel safer with it totally wiped. Thanks for any input!

Just my opinion, but I would not sell the device if I could not wipe it.
