    If the app wont update you should delete it from your device and re-install it from the App store.

    Also, if you used a different Apple ID to initially get the app, sign out of the App Store and then sign in with that particular Apple ID to update it.

    If you owe iTunes money that can hinder the update process. Just putting it out there.
