How do I place an imported photo into a prexisting album?

In iphotos, I identified each imported photo and placed it into a smart faces album. I cannot find how to assign an imported photo to a specific album.

1. If you're using an iPhone, select "albums" at the bottom.
2. Select the Album you want the imported pic to be placed.
3. Select "Edit" at the top
4. Select "Add" at the bottom
5. Select the imported pic
6. Select "Done" at the top.
