    I was attempting to replace my screen and when I had swapped the screen over and connected the 4 screen connectors my screen and digitaliser are working but my screen is very dark. I assume this is the backlight not working.

    Retrace your steps and maybe you'll find the error. Use this guide by iFixit.

    Otherwise take it to a repair shop.
