What kind of spam are you getting? There are times when folks click on links on, say, FB, which lead to a swarm of spam.

You could change your email password and see if that helps.

The iPhone in and of itself will not cause you to receive "SPAM" on it or on any of your other devices. Your activities while using the iPhone, iPad and computer can. With that, you did say that the SPAM "vastly increased", meaning you were getting SPAM before buying the iPhone. Having said that, I recommend you alter your habits. You can also make use of SPAM filters, change your account password, and closely monitor the permissions you give to your apps & games.

Read the "privacy" notices on everything. When they refer to 3rd party partners, that's ad spam.
