Why is my iPod (4th generation) not working?

so for a few weeks now my iPod 4th generation has a white screen. i have tried letting it drain its battery and then charging it. i have tried pressing the home and power on/off button, but every time it turns back on it doesn't show the apple Lego or the charging sign just a black screen. I haven't dropped it or anything it just stopped working.

I don't know, but I recommend you make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store to have them diagnose the problem for you.
