Why am I not receiving email on my iPad Air, w/the exception of junk mail?

On my ipad air, in my hotmail acct., I am unable to receive incoming mail, BUT I am receiving incoming junk mail in the same account. I have tried deleting & reinstalling my hotmail acct & have done the hard shutdown. I am receiving email as normal on my iphone.

Are you using two-step verification? If so, you might want to try and disable that feature and test. I've heard of people having issues when using that feature.
