For some months now, iTunes on my desktop seems to get stuck on syncing with my 6+ 64 GB. I have a Dell Vostro 220: Intel Core Duo @ 2.93 GHz, 3.0GB of RAM, runs Windows 7 Professional. I also have 526.4 MB (850 photos) of pictures. What happens is when I initiate a sync (via cable) on the desktop, it hangs on stage 2 for quite awhile (transferring secure data of some sort), then eventually moving on to stage 4, importing photos. This is where it really stalls. A couple days ago I had dragged & dropped a couple photos out of Camera Roll into a couple desktop folders that I have iTunes sync back to my device. I open the iPhones device storage window and the Windows Pictures library, the drag and drop the pictures out of the Camera Roll into the desired folders in Windows. I moved two picyures this way, then sinced. I gave up after a long time (probably about 15 mnutes or so) and cancelled the sync. Today I tried again just a short time ago, this time with no picyures, songs, any media, or apps to sync. Hung again; I timed it, and it hung (mostly) on step 4) for around 55 minutes. Now, I used to do this with iPod touches and didn't seem to have that much of a problem. My first iPhone was the 5; started having problems then and then with the 5S, and now with the 6+. Anyone have a clue? ITunes issue or computer issue?

Probably both, in the sense that it's such a huge sync. I'd restart the computer, restart the device, and let it run. I've never had anything take that long but I sync regularly.
Other option is to sync to iCloud.

I can tell you from experience, iTunes on Windows never works as good as iTunes on a Mac. With that being said, as qbnkelt expressed, I've never seen it take that long.

One thing I forgot to mention is that it's not consistent; sometimes it takes only a few minutes. Maybe an uninstall:reinstall of iTunes?

    It's worth a try.

FWIW: I uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and that seemed to take care of things
