I have tired resetting the network and switching off and on messaging. Could resetting all systems fix the problem?

    1. Reboot your device and then have someone send you a test iMessage or SMS message.

    2. Call your wireless provider and have them check from their end as well as have them send you a test SMS message.

If the first two fail to fix the problem then try going to Settings - General - Reset and then select "Reset All Settings".

Try toggling off iMessage, then sign out of iMessage. Then sign back in to iMessage. Then toggle iMessage back on. Make sure your number is checked in "Send and Receive".

My Mac had the same problem.. the odd thing is that it eventually started working out of nowhere.
