Why can't I see family calendar appointments my husband enters?

I am the owner of the family calendar and until recently everything was working fine. When I made an appointment my husband would see it and vice versa. However, when my husband enters a family calendar appointment now I am not seeing it, it is not appearing on my iphone even though I have family calendar switched on. I can't think that we have changed anything for this to suddenly stop working.

Are you certain your husband is entering the information in the shared family calendar, especially if it is not selected as the "default" calendar in the device's settings?
