Why can't I download emails?

Problem with downloading emails

when I click on "mail" in the bottom left corner I see "downloading 1 of 3" for example. But when there are no new emails. If I look in trash to see if they've been put in there, there's nothing, can anyone help?

did you read email on another device? If you did... what you're seeing is the device downloading the read message.
