I just bought used iPhone 5. iOS 8.1 was already installed. I am noticing EXTREMELY poor battery time. I fully charged it. Disconnected charging at 8 PM. Now at 12:30 AM, battery is about 20% remaining. In the next hour or two at max, it'll be completely dead. Didn't play any game. Only Whatsapp with WiFi and texting - nothing else. No calls even. So it will give me max 6 hours on a full charge.

What do I do? This is a major issue. Is there a fix for this or did I have the bad luck of buying a phone with screwed up battery and have to live with it now?

P.S. Just checked update and iOS 8.3 is available, but not sure if that will fix the battery time.

To be safe and eliminate the hardware, you would be best to change the battery, **** Apple can perform battery diagnostics over the phone for free.

I would install iOS 8.3, let your battery drain to about 5%, and then charge the phone all the way.

See if that helps. If not, follow the advice from Andrew Hill13.
