It's the code that was set up to "password protect" the device. We have no way of knowing what the passcode is for YOUR device.

Nope. Get it wrong a couple of times and it will take years before its fixed. Connecting to iTunes if you have already synced with it before should fix it if Apple hasn't changed that from iOS 7.

I knew if there's 10 failed attempts, it will automatically erase the phone if you have that toggled on in Settings >Passcode. I'm not sure what you refer to by a "couple" tries and etc. Years? I haven't heard that.

The 1st time its I think 10 tries and the device gets disabled. Then after that, get it wrong one more time and its disabled for 15 minutes. And it keeps increasing like that.
