My iPad was plugged in after being wet, can it be saved or should I just get a new one?

My iPad was plugged in after being wet..Help!

My iPad was exposed to water yesterday. My husband plugged it into the charger. Can it still be saved or is it better to get a new one? At this point I can't get it to turn on at all.

I'm going to go out on a limb and *assume* it's fried. Having said that, if it were me, I'd plan on buying a new one.
