When recording myself for one minute, I end up with a 48meg file that is simply useless to attach to an email or to post on a forum etc...
I need a setting which will produce a file of say...10meg.
    Can it be done?

If you're sharing with someone close by who also has an Apple device, use AirDrop. It works great for large videos.

Maybe. Try downloading a 3rd-party camera app or a zip-type app.

Load it into iMovie and export it as a lesser quality file.
