how do i deactivate my account

I recently switched from my iphone but some of my messages are still going through to the iphone. I want them to come through my new phone.

Did you turn iMessage off on your old phone? If not, can you still do that?

1. Are the people who are texting you using the phone number associated with your previous iPhone?

2. If you are using your Apple ID/iCloud ID in regard to iMessages then you need to sign out of iMessages with that particular ID on your previous device.
