    And now it won't turn on past the apple logo. When I connect it to iTunes it often isn't showing up and is not showing up in my device manager on my pc. The few times iTunes does recognize it it says that it need an update and restore. I try to do that and it downloads the 1.47gb update and then times out and I get an error message. Can someone help me please

    Put the phone in DFU mode. Plug it in to the PC, press the sleep/awake button and the home button for 10 seconds then let go of the sleep/awake button but keep holding the home button. After about 10 seconds iTunes will tell you the device is in recovery mode and you can restore it. After its back up you can restore from a recent backup.

    I've tried doing that and I can't download the update required so I can't retore it. Also can u walk me through putting it into dfu mode
