Specific selection of 2G/3G/LTE on iOS 8.2

I couldn't find any option for specifically selecting 2G on my iPhone 6 with iOS 8.2
I live in a area where 3G is weaker, drains battery by fluctuating between 2G & 3G continuously, in order to save my iPhone's battery I need to allow my phone to be in 2G mode, but I couldn't find any option except "disable LTE" option.
I have seen a video in which a phone running on iOS 8.0 doesn't have option for selecting 2G, whereas another phone running on iOS 8.1 has an option for specific selection. Upon seeing that video, I have updated my phone from 8.0 to 8.2, there is no option on 8.2 as seen on 8.1!
Is there any other way to solve this issue?

Those options are carrier/service provider options that they (carriers) support via carrier settings files... If a carrier doesn't support it...you will not see the options.
