How to make your contacts full size

On incoming calls all I get are tiny thumbnails. I've tried everything to make them full size. I'm really regretting my switch from android

Delete the picture from the contact and add in another photo from your phone; it will appear full screen. This feature has been re-enabled in ios 8.
