How to prevent webpages from constantly re-loading?

Have a iPad 4 WiFi, lots of storage and latest iOS. Fast connection speed of 50 mbps. While reading various news websites the page(s) constantly reload, move up or down causing me to have to wait or relocate where I was last reading. Presume it's ads that are the culprit. Bought app called AdBlock. It works very well. A tad cumbersome to set up and use, but not bad.
Any other way to resolve this issue without AdBlock?

Far as I know - no.

Clearing history may help. I've had mixed results doing that. But may be worth it try.
