Why can't I get "Update" to work on the 3 apps in App Store app that need updating?

I have an iPhone 5s and haven't downloaded the 8 update that's been waiting a long time. I'm still running 7.

Apple has had issues today... the stores have been down... starting to come back for some people. Be patient.
