Why can I only add some songs to my iPhone 6s?

I can only add some songs to my iphone 6s

I have about 100 songs in my itunes library, music that I got from friends, mostly from an android phone. When I connect my iphone 6s I'm only able to transfer about 20 songs out of the 100, it just tells me unable to transfer but does not say why????

It's hard for me to think of anything that would casue this without seeing a screenshot. Try right clicking one of the songs that wont transfer and select the "create MP3 version". This will create a duplicate of the song but the second copy will be an MP3 file. Try adding the second one created to your phone and see if it works.
