how do i turn my iphone on when it says itunes connect?

when i go to turn my phone on it shows a plug in with an arrow and itunes and a itunes caption and will not turn on???
my son tried updating my phone and now it wont turn on even if its plugged in ....

Plug it into a PC or Mac and open iTunes to restore the phone.
