Why do both of my children's iPhone's indicate online, not sharing location?

Children's iphones both indicate online, not sharing location.

Both phones should be, when last I checked, accepting the find my phone locator. This has happened before and both phone were correctly set up & functioning. Is there a way to re-activate this function remotely?

My daughters phone all of a sudden removed me as a friend this this weekend. I had to request and have her approve me as a friend in order to see her location in the Find my Friend app. She was there on Saturday and then all of a sudden not there on Sunday. It happened once before as well.

So you will need to request to follow them and then approve from their phones.
