why am i unable to download my emails on iPhone 5?

The downloading sometimes works as soon as I turn phone on. Other times, it reads "downloaded yesterday" or "checking emails" (but never connects to them.

What do you mean turn it on? Do you physically shut the phone off? If so do you open emails on the web while the phone is off?

What sync option do you have a selectet? Push, Fetch or Manual? What protocol email uses? POP, IMAP, Exchange or what ever?

Can you explain a little more about your problem? We don't quite understand what you're saying. Have you always had this problem? Is it a new problem? Are you new to email?
