    Can I connect apple tv through my dvd or cable box? There is not an hdmi port on my 2005 plasma tv

    My apple tv is old too-gen 1 or 2-it does support mirroring

    You can connect an AppleTV to any device that has a compatible pass-thorugh or switchable input on it that will connect to your TV.

    Or you can buy an hdmi to whatever adapter to go from the Apple TV to your TV.
    If it's a gen 2 Apple TV then it would support AirPlay mirroring from an iDevice or MacBook.
