    No calls come through but emails and other notifications still ding
    Can I stop that

    I believe that if you are using your device while DND is activated, notification dings will still come thru.

    Check your settings. Notifications will come through when the phone is unlocked.

    You can turn that off in Settings. See silence setting at bottom.
