It was on my pad, but i erased it by mistake and can not get it back. It says open when i went back to apple store.

Just reboot your device and then reinstall it, but check. ALL of the home screens and folders FIRST.

You are correct Zerog46. It can't be downloaded on the IPad Air.

Go into iPad Apps

...and press iPhone apps

That's the iPhone app x2 for the iPad. It's not made for the iPad.

Not sure what you mean by "x2", but the Instagram app might not be made for the iPad but it does work on the iPad. I use it everyday

The "2x" designation comes from the fact that the app is not designed for the larger iPad screen. It actually runs a "two times" scaling. Theres a little button on the iPad screen in the lower right corner that toggles between 1x and 2x size. If you run x1, its a smaller image (iPhone scale) in the center of the screen.

Thanks for the info Hank. I deleted that post after I realized I knew what it was, however the Instagram app does work on the iPad even though it wasn't made for the iPad. I have found that there are several apps that work on the iPad and the 1x/2x does come in handy
