    Apple Computer or iDevice? If iDevices, tap on the even to show the details of the event, then you will see the edit button on the top right coner, if you don't see it, kill the calendar app from the background and reboot the device and open calends app again to check

    Of someone is sharing a calendar with you, you can't edit it. The same with events.
