Why aren't my saved passwords saving?

ok so i used auto generated passwords on some sites, saved changes to always remember. then i have returned to those websites and when prompted to login there is no autofill options. i barely remember what id i used let alone that auto generated password. so i went through safari and found some. but i think some are in the icloud keychain and i cant find them
