Why can't I receive the verification email for my Apple ID

I have attempted to sign in for my Apple ID numerous times, but each time they say an email was sent to my email address. I know my email works because I have both sent and received email traffic sent from other phones as well as computer. Please help me.

How many email addresses do you have? It would be to the address you use for your Apple ID. Check your spam or Junk folder. It could be there.
