    I just want to get his name and passwords off the iphone, but don't want to lose contacts, photos, apps, etc. ... alot of the old stuff works for me as well. Can you help?

    I would back up your device to your computer via iTunes. Remove it from iCloud. Wipe it. Then restore from back up.
    Not sure if anyone else might have a less complicated way of doing it.

    Sign out of iCloud. Sign out of iTunes and AppStore. Sign out of FaceTime and iMessage. Delete any other email accounts he has.
