In attempting to executed the 7.02 ios update my iPhone seems to get stuck in a loop. The apple appears, the update timeline moves forward, it gets almost to the end of the install, then it goes back to the beginning. A message appears that my screen access is locked by a passcode, my pass code I assume, and therefore cannot be accessed. As no touch keyboard appears for entering my pass code, it seems impossible to access my phone suddenly. If I attempt to synch into iTunes I get the same message, the iPhone cannot be accessed because it is locked.

If I had to *guess*, I'd say that the process has determined that the iPhone might not be yours or that the associated credentials does not match that of the ones you're providing. In either case, you need to contact Apple Account Security department to get the problem resolved.

And you can't update to ios 7.02 via iTunes at today's date. That's simply not possible.
