Why has mail sent sound swoosh not audible on my ipad?

My ipad 2 swoosh sound when I send Marilyn is silent. It is not on mute. Everything else I can hear. Also the bell I selected for incoming mail is no longer audible. ? What can I do?

Go to Settings...Sounds... And make sure those events are still assigned a tone... Set the ones you want.
