Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I am bit puzzled and need help please.
I purchased some movies in iTunes, when I double click on the movie, it does not play.
So here is where I am puzzled. I downloaded all the movies (27) to be exact. Yet they ended up on my Macs hard drive, where I don't know.
After some digging. I right clicked on the movie, and it had an option, show in Finder. Sure enough it was there.
I don't know why when you download music it goes into the iTunes music folder, which I am pretty certain is also on your hard drive.
Yet movies do not show up in the movies or download folder in iTunes within Finder. It seems you have to dig for it, why is that?
So, I went back into iTunes, and deleted the movies from there. 27 movies uses a lot of storage on the Macs hard drive.
Now, what puzzles me, after I deleted them, it seems now I have the option to either play the movie within iTunes, or download it again.
How come I had to download the movie after purchasing it to watch it? The same movies are on my 5C, yet I can watch it if I choose without having to download it.
Sorry for the confusion here, I checked some of the links, but it was of no help. Thanks :-)

iTunes - Sharing & Managing Content - Apple Support -- the managing content section might be useful.

I saw that link when I googled the question. While helpful in some aspects, it really does not explain everything. Thank you just the same.

Maybe it's just a requirement by Apple.

I have never had to download hem to watch them. Do you have it set to automatically download them when you make a purchase.

Yes it is set to auto download everything. But it does not auto download the purchase, in order for me to watch on my Mac.
I have to download the movie, and as I said. It is Mia in the iTunes folder.

Check preference and along the top there is a tab to download purchases. Not sure exactly which one I'm not at a computer right now.

Strange, I purchased another movie. I am able to watch without downloading.
The past purchases I bought from my 5C, I'll just keep tinkering.
I will figure this out eventually.

It has something to do with download purchases made on other devices.
