Go to settings > general > usage > manage storage. That will tell you what's taking up space on your phone.

My iphone keeps saying my storage is almost full. Sometimes i cant even take a pic. What could be filling up my storage?

The usual culprits are music, apps, messages, photos and videos, email, Notes in the Notes app, app cache, Safari history, lockscreen and homescreen wallpaper.
If you gave an excessive amount of music, go through and delete some.
Got any apps you never use? Delete!
Upload photos, videos and gifs to cloud based apps like Box,Dropbox and OneDrive. You can create album folders to organize your photos in those apps. Then you can delete them from your camera roll. This saves you space.
Are you a messages hoarder? Many do that. I've seen people with 3 gb of iMessages. Delete them. If you have a few you want to save, take a screenshot of them and store them in Box or Dropbox.
Some apps like Facebook build up cache. Delete those apps, then reinstall them. That gets rid of the cache.
Delete emails and notes that are not important, especially if they have photos and videos.
Good luck!
