    I have no traditional home network ( wifi router ). I teather my laptop & other devises to my hotspot data connection thru my iphone 6+. Is it possible to use this hotspot on my iphone to suffice as my home wifi network to use CHROMECAST. I've tried and have been unsuccessful in making the connection.

    It may work in theory...but as a matter of practicality, having a Chromecast tethered to your phone will blow through a capped data plan in short order resulting in overage charges, or if subjected to throttling after a data cap is passed, end user experience will be seriously diminished.
