How do I access my contacts and calander in iCloud?

I have lost all contacts and events on my iPhone 4s... Last back up was this morning at 1:24am. I try to sign into iCloud but it seems that I cannot access that information. What good is it to have an iCloud backup but not be able to access my info when I need it?

The iPhone/iPad/iPod backups are total backups. Items cannot be selectively backed up or restored - it’s an "all or nothing" situation. That said, you can always restore from a backup, as long as that backup is available.

The current Contacts and Calendar(s) information is available by going to http://icloud.com and logging in.
