What happens if I don't return my Samsung Galaxy S5 after upgrading early on the Verizon Edge plan?

I paid the difference to upgrade to an iPhone 6. The paperwork says they will charge me $200 on my next bill if I don't send my S5 back. My S5 is worth a lot more than $200. It is in mint condition. I only used it for 6 months.

If that is the case, then you may be better off selling the phone on eBay or to someone you know, then using that money to pay the $200.00 they bill you for and pocket the rest. This is just my suggestion, however, I'm not sure if Verizon does anything with the ESN number, etc, if it is not returned (such as flag it lost/stolen so that it can't be activated).
