My iPod Classic 160GB, purchased Dec 2010, is not updating with new downloads, why?

ipod classic 160GB, purchased Dec 2010 - not updating with new downloads.

What appears on my computer screen does not appear on my iPod. New download from earlier this week does not appear after synchronising. Alterations to playlists and deleted tracks have not been updated. iPod is fully charged and updates are all completed.

I never knew they made a 160gb capacity iPod. That's a lot.
