Why is my iPad saying "not charging" when I have the charger in?

I'll plug in my iPad air charger and it will say not charging. I tried using a diferent charger and usb but it will keep saying "not charging" what do I do?

1. Use an Apple approved charging cable.
2. Check the wall socket to make sure it is active.
3. Try charging it via your computer.
4. Reboot or turn off the iPad and then attempt to charge it.
5. Make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store and have them diagnose the problem for you.
