Why can't I find the slide to reply option on my lock screen?

I have my reply on lock on. Andy phone still doednt have the reply button on my lock screen

1. What device are you using?
2. Is the device running iOS 8 or above?
3. If so, try rebooting your device and then go to Settings - Notifications - Messages and then enable the toggle button next to "Show on Lock Screen". Also, enable the button next to "Show Previews".

Now, you do realize that you cannot see the slide to reply option until you slide your finger to the left on an actual message notification.

Hey pal,

In order to reply to texts that pop up on your home screen, simply force press the message you wish to reply to.

The original posts in this thread are from 2014. Force press didn't exist yet and slide to reply was available prior to iOS 10.
