Why does my iPad 1 keep crashing?

My iPad 1 keeps crashing

When I use my iPad to look up things in safari and other browsers it crashes and goes back to start, ie just like when it's turned on. I've tried closing programs and have 3 gb of free memory. I know it's old but I like it so all help welcome!

if you are only using it for safari- I might try to wipe and restore- then put back things as you need them

I eventually sold my original iPad (iPad 1). One reason was Safari crashes, and the gradual lack of app support. Safari was having trouble with newer web content, which I think contributed to the frequent crashes. Tried to hang on to it as long as possible, but with the issues and shrinking app support, was no longer feasible.

Before a wipe and restore, recommend doing a full backup first.
