Having thousands of photos on my Mac's iPhoto, I would like to see them on the TV. However the two devices are in different rooms (mirroring Mac would not help then, I am afraid). iTunes might not work because of the huge amount of store required (tens of GBs), and home sharing is hard because of necessity then to set home sharing for hundreds of different albums (and would be syncing them to all the Apple's devices I have). Any other "way around" ? :-)

Mirroring should work in this regard, whether your computer is in a different room or not. All you need to do is be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Allegedly, you can "export" an iPhoto slideshow, but you will still need to have the home sharing feature enabled.
