How to delete all contacts from iPad simultaneously?

I am giving my iPad to my son and hence wish to delete contacts, however deleting each contact separately is time consuming and boring as I have almost 900 saved contacts

I would just restore the device as new- Go into settings then general- scroll all the way down to reset and then reset all contacts and settings. This will restore is to factory settings
