Would the new iMac 27 inch with retina 5K display be overkill for a freelance graphic designer?

My main work is for print and for web publication i.e. interactive pdf. I am concerned that this very high resolution of the new iMac with retinal display will distort or alter graphics etc when actually printed or viewed on other computers.
