How can I make the led (flash) alert continuous?

I may not look at my iPhone for hours at a time, so a single flash does me no good. I need a way to keep the led blinking until I notice it and take some action.

As an even better alternative, I'd love something -- even just a single pixel -- to flash on the screen continuously whenever I get an alert.

I've never used the led flash alert, and has no idea it only flashed once. If that is the case, there is no way to make it flash continuous. Your next best option is to have all your notifications set on "Alerts".
