My visual voicemail on iPhone 6 plus doesn't play back messages in speaker why is this?

When I hit audio it brings up speaker at bottom and has it ticked but still have to put phone to my ear to hear message. Can anyone help? Thank you

Try resetting your network settings (settings > general > reset > reset network settings). If that doesn't work, reboot your device by holding the power & home buttons a the same time until the Apple logo appears.

If the advice Nikki gave you does not work, While listening on spkr try hitting the volume up button as the speaker volumn is seperate from other volumns on your device as all iPhones are like this.
