why wont my macbook stay connected to wi-fi

just acquired a pre-owned MacBook and while everything works, when browsing on safari the connection is lost after about 15 minutes. every other device in the house stays connected no problem

I don't know why that is, but you can try rebooting the router, and all of your connected devices to see if that helps. If you have a router capable of dual frequencies (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) then put your Apple products of the 5 GHz frequency and everything else on the 2.4 GHz frequency and see how well that works out for you. If you have AppleCare, make a genius bar appointment to see if they can diagnose and fix the problem for you.
